I was super excited to be hired by Origins to make charcoal drawings to promote their charcoal mask. I was in Tucson this past weekend at the Park Place Mall. I got to meet and draw a bunch of awesome ladies.
This early spring I was commissioned to make some paintings for Chevy's Mexican restaurant in Southern California. The paintings are printed so they are in all of the restaurants. I made seven of them but these were my personal favorites.
I had a booth at the Phoenix Art Festival the second weekend in December and I was able to hang out and paint some cool folks. I also drew some unsuspecting muralists as well as some of the volunteers and workers at the fair.
Colored Pencil Sketches
The first weekend in December I drew at St. John Knits, a very upscale clothing store at the Scottsdale Fashion Square (and at other locations). I drew their mannequins, the customers and this awesome group portrait of their saleswomen. Each of them posed for me individually and I placed them all together. The woman were very nice and so were the customers. And I got some fun marker drawings out of it.
I recently completed a house portrait commission. The home was a really cool modern home that the owner was moving away from. I loved the lighting.
Drew at First Friday last night. Made some watercolors and threw in an experimental option where I worked in colored pencil or oil pastel.
For the past couple of weeks I was hard at work on a voter registration campaign for Funny or Die and Next Gen Climate. I made portraits of celebrities and comedians who were interested in promoting voter registration. My husband did the graphic design.
